In the rural countryside of Trinity, NC, Homethrown Pottery sits nestled on a quaint farm. Potter Lisa Shelton started the business over 5 years ago, with faitful assistance from her husband David & their cocker spaniel Freckles. What started out as a shop featuring Lisa's handturned stoneware pottery & soy candles has evolved into a primitive shop FULL of Lisa & David's craftsmanship. Lisa continues to make the pottery, soy candles, soaps, etc. & has expanded into making all sorts of primitive wares. And David has created a wonderful line of primitive reproduction furniture. Along with all of their handmade wares, you'll find select goodies added to compliment the shop - Amish Barn Stars, Gooseberry Patch Cookbooks, braided rugs, tinware, and much more!! What is the difference between Ceramics & Pottery? Ceramics are made from a liquid that is poured into molds. My pottery is handturned from a lump of clay on a potter's wheel. No molds are used! No decals, either! While some people will call ceramics handcrafted, my work is handmade! And is the US on top of that! Hope you enjoy the efforts that go into my work & use it in your everyday life!
